A Winter Fairy Tale in Lapland

It may be summer in the Northern Hemisphere, but now is the time to look ahead and book winter holidays to Lapland for the coming Christmas season.

Finnish Lapland is in the far north of the country, and is home to not only the indigenous Sami, nomadic tribal peoples who have lived here and been one with the land for millennia, but also to Santa Claus and his magical kingdom.

Lapland is an amazing place to visit year round, but winter is something very special in this far and frosty corner of the world. The land literally becomes a winter wonderland, with snowy forests, frozen lakes, vast landscapes, and the Northern Lights to enchant even the most pragmatic of visitors.

A fabulous way to embrace and enjoy the highlights of Finnish Lapland in an all-inclusive trip is to join Scandi Classic’s Winter Fairytale Lapland Tour. Spend six days with us as we introduce you to the highlights of Helsinki before transporting you to the Arctic Circle for an unforgettable adventure.

The trip begins with a transfer from Helsinki airport to a 4* hotel in the heart of the city. The first day in this contemporary capital is at your leisure, to explore and discover for yourself.  Day two offers a panoramic Helsinki city tour, taking in all of the city’s must-see highlights. In the evening, jump onboard the overnight train for the Lapland city of Rovaniemi.

You will arrive in Rovaniemi late morning on the third day – and a winter wonderland awaits. Situated on the Kemijoki River and nestled between two hills, this northern capital is but a stone’s throw from the Arctic Circle. Over the next three days, you will enter a breathtaking land which is the stuff of fairytales. Enjoy a Northern Lights Campfire Tour, a visit to the historic Poro-Pekan Pirtti reindeer farm, a Santa Claus Safari to his enchanting village, as well as choosing from an array of activities including Husky Safari, Kick-sledding, Ice Fishing, and plenty of time at leisure.

Each night in Lapland is spend in a modern 4* hotel in the centre of the city. The evening of day five includes the overnight train back to Helsinki, where the tour concludes on day 6.
